Renew Life Church Midland Communications Coordinator


Location: Renew Life Church, Midland, Texas

Reports To:  RLC Midland Campus Pastor and Communications Director

Position Status: Full Time, Non Exempt, Hourly

Schedule: Monday-Thursday and Sundays, regular work hours

Overview:

The Communications Coordinator is the local expression of the Communications Department for their assigned campus. They are responsible for managing the daily communications tasks, building and overseeing volunteer teams, and managing local campus equipment to ensure their campus reflects the desired level of excellence for all Renew Life Church campuses. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Social Media/Website/Podcast

  • Schedule posts according to posting schedule for each campus department

  • Respond to social media comments and inquiries with direction from the Communications Director

  • Work closely with the Communications Director to align on strategic goals, campaign plans, and content strategies.

  • Collaborate with other RLC departments to gather information and insights for communication materials.

  • Edit the previous Sunday message podcast for posting

    • Post to Apple Podcast, Spotify, and YouTube

Departmental

  • Ask Pastor for and create Planning Center Sunday Service Schedules

  • Capture, edit, upload, and send out photos from events (Baptism, Child Dedication, etc.)

  • New staff onboarding for campus (ie. headshots, email signatures, website placement)

  • Onboard and train new volunteers 

  • Schedule out volunteers monthly

  • Maintain camera gear 

  • Order prints (flyers, qr codes, handouts, etc)

  • Host volunteer trainings, as needed in collaboration with the Communication Director

  • Care for volunteers: cards, coffee, lunch, misc appreciation

  • Attend staff meetings: staff, prayer, event planning, department, etc

  • Give Sunday count sheets to campus admin

  • Gather content for all RLC events (photos, video)

  • Edit pictures from the previous Sunday

  • Serve at RLC events

Knowledge and Skills Needed: 

  • Value for routine and executing tasks

  • Working knowledge, familiarity, and experience with computers, cameras, Adobe Suite, Google Suite, and social media

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in accordance with ministry objectives

Education/Experience/Certification:

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Education or training directly focused on the creative arts 

Preferred Requirements:

  • College degree with focus within the realm of church communication (i.e. communication, design, marketing, etc.) 

  • Design/video/web-design experience

  • 5+ years of ministry communications or creative arts experience
